MAD MAX

LESS IS MORE WHEN IT COMES TO MY MAKE UP. I REALLY DON'T HAVE THE PATIENCE OR ARTISTIC BALANCE TO PULL OFF MUCH MORE. I THINK ANYONE WHO HAS SPENT A THIRD OF THEIR CAREER IN HAIR AND MAKEUP FEELS THE SAME. BUT ON THE UP SIDE I HAVE BEEN UNDER THE BRUSH OF SOME OF THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS AND PICKED UP ALL THE TRICKS OF THE TRADE ALONG THE WAY. BUT FOR THOSE LUCKY ENOUGH NOT TO BE IN THAT CHAIR YOU HAVE MAX MAY'S WEBSITE, MAXMADE.COM WHICH TELLS YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. TRUST ME, YOU'RE WELCOME. SO BY POPULAR DEMAND, HERE IS MAKE UP ARTIST MAX MAY'S BEAUTY HOW-TO NOTES FROM OUR CHANEL CRUISE '14 COLLABORATION JUST IN TIME FOR THE WEEKEND.

MAKEUP
STEP 1. I worked Chanel’s Vitalumiére Aqua Foundation into Alex’s skin with my fingers. This lightweight radiant finish foundation reflects light making skin look youthful and fresh. My tip to you; use your fingers to blend the foundation in. The warmth of your fingertips will help the two become one.

STEP 2. We wanted to keep Alex’s look as fresh and youthful as possible – which means less is more – so I contoured her eyes with Chanel’s Ombres Matelassées Eyeshadow Pallet in Charming. This beige-through-bronze-to-plum is the perfect palette to define the lashes with the darker of the shadow and contour the eye with the midtones and highlight areas like the inner corners of the eyes and temples with the lighter shade. It’s silky soft finish makes it easy to blend, and fool-proof use. To finish the eye I curled Alex’s lashes and applied Chanel’s Inimitable Mascara to add volume, length and curl.Note; Perfect for finer lashes that need a little drama. Be sure to curl first!

STEP 3.  To highlight any darker spots of the face – like under the eyes, around the base of the nose – and make areas like the cheekbones and ridge of the nose pop, I applied Chanel’s Eclate Lumiere in Beige Clair. Watch your skin start to glow when using the easy to apply pen-brush.

STEP 4. To finish I stained her lips by applying Chanel’s Mélodieuse (a orange-pink colour) with my fingertips. This lip colour is from Chanel’s Rouge Allure Intense Collection. Applied using this technique, it applies more sheer and stain-like, rather than it’s designed finish of a rich traditional lip colour.

HAIR
Step 1; Hair is so simple and all about creating  texture that is lived in but has a healthy sheen to it’s finish. I simply applied Kerestasé Resistance Mousse Volumactive, which I applied from the roots to the ends before giving her a natural blow dry using my fingers. Enriched with vitamins and mineral this product helps protect from heat, controls fly aways but most of all, leaves hair with a beautiful natural sheen.
Viola! There you have it!

  1. its odd as I love to look at eyeshadow.... but I just don't like it much on my eyes!!!... I love a nude fresh look... which sometimes takes more work if the skin is not in the best condition.... i also feel lighting is soooo important!... what may look good in the bathroom... may not look so good in harsh daylight!... lovely post! and yes, less is more always!x

  5. He was arrested, but the case was dropped when he went for more treatment. Burrell was so funny and na?ve, and then one April day he suddenly snapped, Jobs recalled. It was the weirdest, saddest michael kors outlet thing.
